Frequently Asked Questions

Who should apply to Pioneers' Orlando Internships?

We are looking for professionals who:

  • Are positive, passionate and hardworking with excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills  and  a strong commitment to Christ.
  • Can commit to working a minimum of 20 hours a week  for 10 weeks during the summer. (Interns can serve more if desired.)
  • Can attend a three-day mandatory orientation during the first week of the internship.
  • Have reliable transportation to our Orlando office (located in Lake Nona) and a phone and laptop they can use to work.
  • Enjoy being part of a fun and energetic team that is determined to give every people group the opportunity to hear the gospel!

*This internship also can count towards college credit if you are a student and your school approves it.

When is the program?

Our internship is a 10-week summer program. In 2022, our program will take place from May 23-July 29.

How do I apply?

You can start writing this chapter of your story by:

  • Choosing the intern position that is the best fit for you.
  • Filling out the application and uploading your resume.
  • Sending reference forms to your mentors.

Once we hear back from your mentors, we’ll contact you!

*While our application is open until April 3 2022, applications received by January 9, 2022, will have 1st priority. After this deadline, the application will be opened until all positions are filled.

Is this a paid internship?

Our internships are volunteer based, so they are unpaid, which is why we only ask interns to serve a minimum of 20 hours/week for 10 weeks.  This also is why we do as much as we can to show our appreciation and invest in our interns while they’re here! In addition to a great professional experience to put on your resume, each intern receives thank you gifts, a social outing and lunches during Orientation week and Intern Appreciation Week and an end of program celebration.

*Housing scholarships are available for interns who live outside of Orlando.

“An experience that I will never forget. I have gained a skill that I can continue to utilize in the future and knowledge that I can carry with me forever. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested and assure them that although it is unpaid, it is worth their time.” – Aaron, Grant Writing Intern

What happens after the internship?

We hope each of our interns will finish our program with:

  • Professional skills that will open doors to future opportunities
  • A deeper understanding of missions and the many ways they can be involved in missions and the global church
  • Authentic relationships and a strong Christ centered community

As an additional bonus, two former interns were hired to work at Pioneers after the program, while another intern was hired at a different missions organization. While these outcomes are not guaranteed for every intern, our interns are equipped with highly marketable skills after they finish the program.
