Southeast Asia Flood Relief

Days of heavy monsoon rains in November 2025 led to catastrophic flooding and landslides across Southeast Asia, particularly affecting the island of Sumatra, Indonesia. More than 1,000 people were killed, with thousands more injured. Over 150,000 homes were destroyed, displacing about 900,000 people.

In many areas, entire villages were flooded, the houses, shops and schools destroyed and bridges and roads washed away. Communications and power supplies were cut off. Some locations could only be reached by helicopter due to damaged roads.

Making a Difference

Our field members and partners are mobilizing teams to assist in the aid and distribution of essential relief items to the affected residents. To facilitate aid distribution, a relief center has been established in each area impacted.

Urgent Needs:

• Essential relief items like food and blankets
• Water filters for safe drinking water
• Emergency shelter supplies
• Trauma counseling for children and families
• School supplies for children
