Explore Sustainable Farming – Harvest Team

Spend a summer with one of the largest unreached people groups in the world on a densely populated island. You will marvel at both the volcanic mountains and the bustling communities around you. Hundreds of thousands live in the valleys you see below, but only a few are believers. Meet local believers and see how God has transformed their lives. Your team will enter new communities by participating in community training events and taking trips to villages that may have never been visited by a believer before. Along the way, you will learn to be more attentive to where God is at work.

As an Edger interested in disciple making and agriculture, you’ll live on an organic farm during the week and visit nearby communities on weekends. You’ll receive training in sustainable farming and grow your own food. It will challenge you, but you’ll see how God is at work in the new friends you meet.

By the end of the summer, you might discover that God has changed the direction of your life as well.

Field Activities

• Live on an organic farm and be part of a local community.
• Learn and work together, share meals and enjoy life together.
• Pray daily as a community, asking God to work and move in the day ahead among the people you’re working with.
• Learn how to “live out loud” and recognize where God is at work.
• Begin to learn and use the national language.
• Explore new communities and look for people of peace.
• Be part of a house church where everyone sits on the floor, explores Scripture stories together, obeys and shares what God shows them.
• Meet other field workers from different teams and learn more about serving God long-term.
