Come Alongside Long-Term Workers Making Disciples – Groundbreakers Team

Experience a place many Westerners have heard little or nothing about, but that the Lord has not forgotten. You’ll get a taste of real life for long-term workers in an unreached land where Islam is the majority religion, though it is a version of Islam that may not be what you expect and exists alongside other traditions, including Catholicism and Orthodoxy. You can help by pushing back against spiritual strongholds in prayer and by supporting the long-term workers and local believers as they battle fatigue and discouragement and fight for joy in the Lord.

You will be challenged and humbled in your experience beginning to learn a new language (or two or three) to use in the local community, opening doors that can help you connect with people across the wider region.

You will split your time between two teams who will pour into you, mentor you and give you a range of perspectives and experiences. Hear from workers who are currently or have been at all stages of life (single, married with no kids, married with kids). Learn what the Lord is teaching them about His character, his kingdom, life and longevity in cross-cultural work.

You will be introduced to disciple-making principles and tools such as radical prayer, seeking out people of peace, and discovery Bible study—biblically based practices you can use anywhere God leads you.

Broaden your understanding of what life overseas can look like, what skills you could bring to the table, what needs exist and how you best fit into the Great Commission. Bless this surprisingly complex land and the long-term workers there by spending a summer living out your faith in Jesus with intentionality, joy and a heart to serve.
