Be a farmer.

Jesus' parable shows seeds falling on paths, rocky ground, thorns, and good soil—each producing different results (Matthew 13:3-8). We can't predict responses to God's message. Our job is to share generously.

Faithful Sowing Across All Soil

Like the farmer in Jesus' parable, Pioneers missionaries scatter seeds of the Gospel across every type of ground. We serve in hard-packed urban centers where the message faces immediate opposition, in shallow soil where interest flares quickly but roots struggle to deepen, and in places where competing worldviews threaten to choke out new faith. Yet we also witness the miracle of good soil—communities and individuals who receive God's Word, are transformed by it, and produce a harvest beyond anything we could imagine. Our calling isn't to predict which soil will yield fruit, but to sow faithfully everywhere God sends us, trusting Him with the results.

Agriculture in Missions

Starting an orchard as a missionary

Two thousand years ago, Central Asia was the world’s hub of activity and modernity as people passed through with goods, stories, philosophies, religions and diseases on the Silk Road. This region has known its share of power struggles and conflict. Now in this modern age, Central Asia is still a crossroads between ancient and modern, East and West, Europe and Asia, Christendom and the world of Islam.

Generous Scattering, Eternal Harvest

Pioneers workers embrace the farmer's posture of generous, even lavish, distribution. We don't hoard seed for only the most promising fields or limit our efforts to places that guarantee quick returns. Instead, we invest in long-term relationships, learn difficult languages, and adapt to unfamiliar cultures because every person deserves to hear the good news in a way they can understand. Some of our laborers serve for decades before seeing a single conversion, while others witness movements to Christ that spread like wildfire. In both scenarios, we celebrate the privilege of being faithful sowers, knowing that God alone gives the growth and that a harvest is coming that will fill His eternal barns.
